I am planning the music portion of my wedding, and just want some help picking some good songs. I need some fun dancing songs, some slow dance songs, a father daughter song, and possibly a song for a dollar dance..

For my father/daughter dance, I am going to use "Butterfly Kisses" by Bob Carslie. It is a beautiful song depicting a father/daughter relationship from birth to her wedding. There is also "Right Here Waiting" by Richard Marx. A good fast song is "September" by Earth, Wind, and Fire, its a fun song....and for a dollar song, How about the Cha Cha Slide, with you two in the middle and everyone dancing around you, that could be fun, everyone loves the cha cha slide =) Good luck!

What is the overall style of your wedding?  That makes a big difference!  I am into the vintage stuff so were doing a lot of old time classics.  

If you want a booty shakin party, look at the top 40 list.

Your music sets the tone.  Determine your tone, then music.  : )

butterflyt kisses is beautiful for a father daughter dance, but it is SO long that you're dying to cut it in the middle...so i advize against that.  cinderella by steven curtis chapman is a great one...beautiful song, and much shorter. you can listen to it here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MLYxtuC0o... there is a song called the dollar wine taxi that many use for the dollar dance...your dj can loop it until your lines run down.  it's reggae, so it's a lot of fun.    other than that, let your DJ do his job.  he should be able to read the crowd and figure out what will get them going.  that's why you're paying him!  make him earn his money!

My cousin just got married and for her father/daughter song they used "I Loved Her First" - by Heartland.

There wasn't a dry eye in the house, it is the best father/daughter song I've heard so far!
