Question:

Wedding on a shoestring. Ideas?

We are planning a wedding on a tight budget. Only us two & our two witnesses. Original plan was to have the ceremony in late afternoon, then the 4 of us go to our favourite resteraunt for the evening. But to have the ceremony in the afternoon it is going to cost an extra £160!!! I'm wondering if anybody has any ideas to fill the afternoon with. Not too expensive, but something memorable.

  1. The cinema? A theatre matinee? Museums and art galleries? Just a day in the city?

It's hard to give advice when I don't know what will be available for you to do.

Best wishes on a wonderful wedding day.

  2. Me and my husband had a fun night. Us two and my husbands two brothers came back to our house and played RockBand. Why don't you go out to eat then catch a moive or go to a club. But you know it's your wedding night your two witnesses should let you be and then you could start your honeymoon off right.

  3. How about go to a zoo or amusement park or botanical garden in between. It would make for some awesome pictures!

  4. Wedding photos.  Even if you have to go to a photography studio to have a few made, get a few professional wedding photos.  Even if budget limits you to the Walmart studio or the Sears studio, get some pictures!

Then maybe go have a champagne toast (or sparkling cider toast) and a few appetizers before dinner?  You can even do the toast and appetizers at your home, if budget is a problem.

  5. Have the wedding in the morning and then go out for a nice brunch or lunch somewhere. That way, usually lunches are cheaper than dinner anyway, giving you a little extra money. You could always go to a park, for a walk, or set up a "picnic" have strawberries and champagne to celebrate! Congratulations on your wedding!
