Weedless Hooks?

Question

How can I make a treble weedless without cutting any of the hooks off? I fish with a Luhr- Jensen Krocodile, and I get caught in the weeds a lot. If you know any ways to make them weedless, that would be great.

a treble hook is NOT what you want to fish with in the weeds. you can make a weedless hook, but not 3 weedless hooks attached to one line. if you're in the weeds, go with a weedless lure or hook or hook your lure where the hook doesn't show.  don't use treble hooks in weedy areas because like the others have said, even the weedless hooks that you buy don't always work. i can tell you that from experience. NOTHING is WEEDLESS if it has a hook. just use a single weedless hook and hope for the best. Good Luck and Happy Fishing!!!

I've used weedless hooks from a store before, and they don't work worth anything, so I can't imagine how effective a homemade one would be

I've never actually made my own weedless hook, specifically.  I usually just buy them, they're like $0.25more.  I suppose you could make them bypulling some thin wire under the barb and attaching it to the top of the hook under the eye.

Typically, I'll just switch to a soft lure and just barely bring the hook out of it so it skirts down the outside of the lure body.  When the fish bites it the body will give and expose the hook, but there isn't a whole lot of room for weeds to get caught on it.

Still, if the weeds are bad there's not a whole lot any rigging or hook will do for ya.  Maybe try a topwater or fly?

i don't think it's very feasable to make a treble hook weedless.

small rubber bands works really well, well if you like your baithardly cover that is.

Use small rubber bands! Not very effective that way though.
