Weight on car door?

Question

when sitting in your car say i lean up against my door to take a little snooze mind you i am in the passenger seat not driving lol

anyways how much weight could cause the door to fly open while your driving - im so afraid al the time that while i am sleeping against the door that it will fly open and out i will tumble

depends on quality of the car....

old crappy one probably will fly out faster then the nice newer cars...

but you can also look at safety ratings and other stuff like that.

however usually a cars door should be able to take on a lot of weight.... if i can crash my car and the doors not fall off, then you leaning on it shouldn't make a door fall off.

It Is very rare, but does happen. Just make sure the door is shut properly and locked. You will be fine. I Have the same phobia as well! It would take a lot of weght to open a locked door. IMHO it would be over 500lbs!

It wont happen with today's vehicles unless you weigh 350 pounds or so.....................

i'd have to say it'd have to be tons of weight but you might be able to find the information say in the owner's manual or maybe on the inside of the door...
