Welbutrin?????????????

I have been on about a dozen of medications in the past few years and have taken Welbutrin in the past but now that i'm with a different psychiatrist they put me back on it. It seems to work okay I guess.. especially at first it was amazing! But for the past week i've been having these weird and random feelings and they're becoming more frequent by the day. It's like a surreal feeling it's really strange and nothing like i've ever felt before. I also take Lamictal. Has anyone else had this side effect or know someone that has or anything please just let me know!! Thanks!

  1. I strongly recommend that you do NOT seek professional medical advice from totally unqualified strangers on the Internet. There is no answer anyone can give you here that should in any way affect your decisions about your medications.

    Talk to your doctor.

  2. I would recommend calling your psychiatrist. My Dad took Welbutrin for about a week and he felt AWFUL and had to be taken off of it. I can't tell you what will or will not work for you all I can recommend is call your doctor, tell him or her how you feel and maybe he can change your meds.

  3. This is why you need to call your Psychiatrist and talk to them. We can't tell you whether this is normal for you or not. My husband takes both Wellbutrin and Lamictal and he felt great the first few weeks and then that tapered off overtime and he evened out. Stress is a biggy. Often if you are under any stress it can affect how your meds are working.

I just suggest you call your doctor tomorrow and voice your concerns.

  4. Call your pdoc if you haven't already.  Strange and surreal might mean the med combo isn't a good one for you.  I take Lamictal and other meds for bipolar, but not Wellbutrin since antidepressants are not my friends.  Lamictal only made me feel a little strange for a few days after increasing dosages.  It also makes me extremely dense when I go much over 200mg.  Everybody responds differently, though.  So, call your pdoc as soon as you can.  There's no point feeling off your game any longer than necessary.
