Were Obama's ancestors slave traders?

It's a horrible question.  But Grim, his father was not African-American.  He's African.  And there were plenty of African slave traders in history.

Why should he or anyone apologize for something they had nothing to do with?

Besides his parents (the father is African American and therefore would not have been a trader under any circumstances) wouldn't have been a live during slave trading, let alone his grandparents.

That's like saying all mulatto's born to slave mothers and slave owner fathers should have apologized for what their slave master did.

It's possible, he is half white. They may have only owned slaves. And yes, if true, he should.

You seem to assume that all slave traders were white. Arabs did it long before and after the West, and the vast majority of slaves were sold by other Africans to the Europeans in exchange for guns.

And I don't think its really relevant to anything. No one should have to apologise for the actions of his ancestors.
