West Bromwich Albion have finalised the signing of Swedish forward Markus Rosenberg on a three year contract.

The Premier League confirmed the signing yesterday on their website and have acquired the striker on a free transfer.
The Birmingham based club has no shortage of strikers, with the likes of Nigerian international and veteran striker Peter Odemwingie and Irishman Shane Long present in the squad. The Baggies however signed Swedish international Markus Rosenberg on a free
transfer yesterday on a three year contract.
The forward is expected to provide competition for http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Racing-c40298 Santander and most recently German outfit Werder
Bremen. The Swede’s contract with Bremen ran out at the end of last season and he joined the Baggies as a free agent.
West Brom manager Steve Clarke is very excited by the new signing and is looking forward to working with him. Speaking about Rosenberg, he said:
"Markus is an experienced striker who has scored goals in three of Europe's top leagues, as well as in the top European competitions. Now he is determined to prove himself in the Barclays Premier League.”
"Markus will really increase competition for places in the forward areas and hopefully spur on the strikers we already have here.”
"He had several other offers this summer but he made it clear that joining West Bromwich Albion was his first choice and we're really pleased we've been able to conclude a deal."
Rosenberg has scored 83 goals in 186 league games during his impressive career. The player has also been a Swedish international and has scored six goals in 30 appearances for the national side. He represented his country in the 2006 World Cup and was also
present in the 2008 Euro squad.
The striker joins Argentine midfielder http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Ben-Foster-c7445 as West Brom’s fourth signing of the season. Manager Steve Clarke already inherited a good squad that had performed very well
under former manager Roy Hodgson. Clarke will be looking forward to building upon last season’s success as he takes charge of the side and prepares for the new Premier League season.
