I will be able to draft either Brian Westbrook, Joseph Addai, or Steven Jackson as my first pick. Who should I choose and why? Thanks.

  1. Westbrook. Year in and year out he is their top runner and receiver. He basically is the Eagle's offense.

  2. I had a similar thing happen to me in my draft minus joseph addai but I don't think it's much of an issue because in my opinion the real battle this year is between Westbrook and Jackson. Westbrook is an unreal back he can run the ball just about as well as anybody in the nfl and it's like he's a reciever also with his receptions and yardage. However, people say he's mr. consistent he's only rushed for over 1,000 yards twice granted he didn't get nearly as many carries but this year there are two big flaws I look at in Westbrook the bigger one is that Westbrook is getting up there in age and has been injured before so you always have to watch out for that second but not as big is that because of his age and the fact that the eagles signed correl buckhalter, westbrook might see a slight decline in his stats due to the amount of yards that will go to buckhalter. In my opinion Jackson has much more of an upside, although last year his stats seemed like they sucked, you have to think last year Jackson was projected number 2 back to LT but everything that could go wrong did go wrong for the rams. bulger got hurt which hit their passing attack alot (good passing leads to good running attack) and their entire offensive line was pretty much injured and Jackson was out for four games on top of that. And he still rushed for over 1,000 yards. This year that same O-line is back and healthy, bulger is healthy, and most importantly Jackson is healthy. The roster looks really similar to the one that led to his domination in 2006 so in my opinion there's absolutely no reason that Jackson can't dominate like he was predicted to do in 2007. And don't worry too much about Jackson's injuries. For the past 3 or 4 seasons he's rushed for over 1,000 yards and in 2006 he had about as many receptions as westbrook. As for Addai I am not a big fan but there's one thing any fantasy owner loves about him, he gets into the endzone. 15 total tds he knows how to put points up on the board. But the thing is his yards per rush took a serious hit last year from 4.8 to 4.1 so it seems that defenses are figuring him out and with a marvin harrison that will most likely not produce nearly what he used to, look for defenses to be able to watch addai even more. Overall this is the order I would put them in

    1. Steven Jackson

    2. Brian Westbrook

    3. Joseph Addai

  3. Westbrook --- he is a solid points maker every week.......Addai will have big games, but the club has a number of weapons.....Jackson got into camp late and will need a game or two to get back into "game shape" - lifting weights, running sprints and crying to the media about a contract is not like being on a field in game situations.

  4. Westbrook. He's not as injury-prone as guys like Addai and Jackson.

  5. Out of those three it is almost a crapshoot for experts to guess who will run for the most yards.  All are pretty solid to run for more than 1,000 yards, but Westbrook is mister consistency, and is a safe bet to rush for over 1000 yards.  Even if he doesn't do as well as he has in years past his rushing stats are going to be right up there or at least very close to Addai and Jackson.

If your league awards a point for every reception, then you for sure want to take Westbrook. He is a great passing target out of the backfield.  In 2007 he was thrown to 120 times for 90 receptions, Addai was thrown to 49 times for 41 receptions, and Jackson 52 times for 38 receptions.  With all the issues surrounding Jackson I would definently try to avoid him.

So with the rushing stats promising to be close, its best to again look at the receiving stats.  Last year Westbrook had 771 receiving yards, the closest to him was Tomlinson with 475, Addai had 364, and Jackson had 271 yards.  I'd definently go with Westbrook

  6. Westbrook is a double threat that has produced for several years but has durability concerns, he hasn't played in all 16 games in a season yet in his career & he's 29. the magic number for RBs seems to be 30 so he's near the bottom of the hill.

No training camp for Jackson will be interesting to see how that effects him the 1st 2-3 weeks & his lack of production in the passing game last year has to be a concern

Addai may be better this year w/ Rhodes back on the team to spell him, he petered off towards the end of the year last year in his 1st chance at full time starter but he's now in his 3rd year & hopefuuly now has built up endurance

I'm a Colts fan & would take Addai but i've got a feeling that Jackson (who fell to me around the 7-8 pick in a couple drafts early on) should be the pick of the 3.

  7. Westbrook
