why do g*y people find offence to if ..it means a bunndle of sticks,,,and why should get mad when people cal u anything ,,havent u heard the saying "we will only call u what u answer too'

****** is one of the words that sounds mean any way you say it. it actually bothers me a little.

edit: actually, i agree that african americans had gone through more suffering with that word than homosexuals did with f*ggot...it's still comparable though. (the n word and f*ggot)

Its because it is a derogatory term! People use it to show they are superior over another culture/ race/ ethnicity/ gender or religion and to degrade the person they are referring too! No one likes to be degraded!

when people use it they aren't using it in the way of a bundle of sticks, they are using it as an offense term towards g*y people, i get pissed when i even here the word i just don't like it...and i don't answer to it

There's nothing wrong with being called what you are. I refuse to take it in a derogative manner. Some people try and use it as such, but it just pisses them off more when you don't let them get under your skin.

I'd like to mean something more than a bundle of sticks or a cigarette, thanks, I don't find those very appealing. Both burn and cause smoke and fires which isn't pleasant unless you're freezing to death or something. If I had to be anything flammable, I'd like to be a tree or something great like that.

it doesn't matter if the word itself out of context is non-offensive. When people use it they are manifesting their hate, hate directed at g*y people. When you have hate directed at you, if feels s**+**y. It's not like, "oh, this person is calling me a bundle of sticks", it's like, "man, I better get out of here, this person might hurt me." That's why this word it offensive: it's associations. Just like the N word is associated with slavery, so a lot of people don't want to hear it.

Well first of all you spelled it wrong and second it's just as derogatory as calling a black person the N word.  Who told you that g*y people respond to you when you yell out f*g?  I'm sure you'd look over if I yelled the word **** in your direction.  g*y people don't like that word the same reason no body like being called a racial or derogatory name.
