  1. Don't bother coming here.  The country is in a big mess,  Airports are closed in Phuket, groups of protesters are beating up the police with golf clubs, no respect for law here. Go to Iraq it's safer.  These Thai people are stupid.

  2. my answer is not a 100% sure. anyway here is my opinion.....

i think  they will stop blocking the airport pretty soon,'cause now the government try to negotiate with them, the government will not let this problem keep going too long.

anyway if u arrive before they stop blocking the airport.  i thinkit's still okay for tourist, and for sure the airport will have some solution for all tourist.

  3. According to the Bangkok Post in one story flights weren't interrupted, that they were just protesting outside. And according to the other the airports were shut down.  Contact the Airline as they may have a contingency plan or offer a refund.

I just want to point out that Isan Airports are open (northeast Thailand) and its a growing tourist destination (at least twelve and I think so).  Fly on up to Udon Thani and smell our dairy air (derriere).

  4. Don't be put off by Harry J's comments...unless you really want to go to Iraq...

I doubt that the airports will stay closed for long and there are alternative airports still open, although it would be best to check with your airline for sure.

As for the protesters, they're not on the beaches (yet) and I'm sure that you will still enjoy your stay! In Phuket you wouldn't know what was going on if you didn't see TV news. However, for your own safety, do avoid the areas where demonstrations are going on.

Once your here get on a boat and explore the islands and forget all your worries!

  5. contact the airline the ticket you bought, they should have the idea ,maybe get a refund and wait things to cool down first before going there again ,nobody knows when these protesting will stop.

    good luck!!
