What's so great about Fritz?

Sarcastic as the question may sound, I'm looking for honest advice. I am fairly new to chess, but I love the game. I'm looking to play more, and learn more. I'd be willing to put up the money for Fritz 11, but to be honest, I don't know too much about it. Would anyone recommend it?
