What's the deal with cops?

Why is it that you can park in a loading zone for 5 minutes longer than it says on the sign, and you get a $60.00 ticket? Then for the next month, while you're waiting for your funds to be in an opportune balance, you're freaking out and worrying about it because if you're late paying it, they'll double it! Who came up with THAT law? How can they so diligently watch where we park while people are out there getting robbed?

They punish the sh*t out of you for a parking ticket. But then, if you rip someone off, scam somebody, commit fraud, write a counterfeit check and s***w an honest person out of thousands of dollars, the cops can't find you! They don't know who you are, they have no leads, sorry Mrs. Jones, you're never getting your money back! They've given up before you even finished your sentence. Shrug their shoulders and sigh with relieved hopelessness, absolving themselves automatically from their sworn duty, to serve and protect.

Seems as though the police are just as interested in taking you for every cent as the criminals. Who is supposed to protect us if the police won't?

  1. A fool and his money are soon parted-Benjamin Franklin

  2. I feel so bad for you.  Those big bad police are just out there to ruin your life.  I'm sure it wasn't even 5 minutes - your just cutting them the benefit of the doubt - something they never afforded you.

Parking tickets for parking in a loading zone, is that the same zone that fire trucks and ambulances use - if like maybe someone needed urgent care?  Your right, I say forget the sick and dying people too, I mean you entitled to use that spot for as long as you d**n well please.

Hey - I couldn't imagine a thief or robber pulling up and using those spaces to commit a crime.  I think I heard a police officer refer to them as the retail theft lane - you know where the get away car is always parked.

Moral of the story - DON'T PARK IN THE SPACE LONGER THAN THE POSTED LIMIT _ IF YOU CAN'T PAY THE 60 BUCKS.  Look on the bright side - it's only about 12 bucks a minute - but 24 if you pay late.

  3. don't hait the player hait the game

  4. Police dont make the laws just enforce them.

  5. I think I would go back to that spot and set myself on fire - to protest this injustice!

  6. So because the cops can't catch everbody who commits a crime, you should be allowed to park illegally?  Take responsibility for your actions.  You parked there.

So it's the cops fault that you were suckered out of your money and can't provide them with any investigative leads?  Are they now supposed to go door to door, asking everyone that they see, if they're the person who did it?

  7. Bottom line-DONT PARK FOR LONGER THAN YOU ARE ALLOWED TO!  Can you read?  Stop whining and obey the laws. By the way, police officers DONT make the laws!!!

    DAN ROCKS!

  8. My father calls them uniformed tax collectors. In the country it's speeding instead of parking. You'll never see a cop patrolling in some crime-infested neighborhood, but you'll see then in the industrial sector at shift change every day with some poor working man stopped.

  9. The police don't decide what the fine is.

You are the guy screaming that the cops do nothing because the guy in front of you has been in the space to long.

And how do you feel unprotected as a direct result of getting a ticket?

We spend untold man hours and budget trying to teach people how not to be victims of scam artists because some scams are so hard to prosecute.

  10. They are tax collectors providing funding for the honest politicians you elected.

If you are robbed you might have to go to court and have a criminal jailed that would cost money, so the politicians dont like for the cops to find too many criminals.
