What's with pointed snowboards?

i just bought a couple burton boards off ebay and one is an air {gold} but it isnt rounded on both ends, it has a pointed end and a flat end...is this like the older style, or whatis it used for? is it even worth using?

It's either an old retro board or an alpine board.  Give it a try, it might be fun!

pointed boards are alpine boards that are built for speed.  Nitro makes a really expenssive one called the gun. i think the board u hav would be considered old skool.

That board must be pretty old, The new air has both ends rounded like all other boards today.
