What's wrong with PETA?

I've heard some people say some nasty things about PETA. Why is that? What is it that makes them so incredibly bad?

I'm neutral on this issue, I just want info.

  1. People who use violence to advance their aims are terrorists, regardless of their "reasoning" for why they use violence. This is a typical trend for humans - they see a need, they try to change or fix the problem, and they get loud when people don't listen. If they are not reasonable human beings, they get violent. Even when their aims have actually either been responded to, resolved, or there is movement to respond, they continue to be loud and/or violent. I think of it as a lack of "balance" in thinking, a lack of empathy toward the idea that someone else may have a different point of view. This, I believe, is exemplified in the US these days by the crippling of the US economy by the green movement actions. There was a serious need, when Rachel Carson wrote "Silent Spring". but the laws have gone too far, out of balance the other way - which of course, will create an equally our of balance response in return, as people start to say "who gives a rats a-- about the blue-tongued frog? Heck with them!" - which is also wrong, but where we'll be going next, because we just can't seem to do balance well. Current rant over for a bit now...  PS - I don't note them throwing paint on bikers in leather jackets, do you? They're also cowards.

  2. if you are neutral on this topic, then why have you made several other posts in relation to PETA today?

Peta to me means narrow minded gorilla warfare and political agenda based corporate terrorism.  The group seeks to shock and disturb while valuing the lives of animals over humans (but not their own lives, mind you).

If PETA was serious about helping animals, you would hear more about animals that PETA saved instead of companies that PETA is trying to take down.

It's kind of like the whole dark vs. light theme.  The humane society saves lives and uses all proceeds to help homeless animals.  Peta is the vigilante that sweeps in at night and punishes those who they feel need to be punished.

If you want to do something for animal rights, boycott companies you don't agree with and donate time and money to a non profit shelter, not a media and profit hungry group who cares more about sensationalism that the life of an animal.

  3. They use violence and intimidation to try to get their point across. They are very radical. They cut the breaklines of companies who do things they don't like putting peoples lives at danger. They throw blood on women wearing fur coats.

If they weren't so radical people may follow their cause as most people don't like animal cruelty but they are so radical and mean that they turn people off to their cause. If I ever saw them on the street engaging in this non-sense I'd start breaking peoples noses, men or women I dont care.
