Hi. I've had my rabbit for 3 years now and he was still a couple of years old when i got him. Anyways, 2 days ago, my dad told me that when he was going to go give my rabbit water, andmy rabbit wouldn't move. Then yesterday, some idiot (excuse me) was walking his dog and his dog came into our backyard and was trying to attack my rabbit, fortunantly, my dad build a good cage for it. The man would laugh when his dog was terrorizing my rabbit. When I went to go check on him yesterday, I noticed that his hind legs don't work and I became terrified. I thought that he had broken his legs. I don't now if he's paralyzed or what. I asked my brother and he said that maybe he's in shock, but i doubt that. When i took him out of his cage so that we could see what was the matter, he would walk with his front legs and drag his hind legs. He was eating grass and he didn't drink water, but today he had some. I need help please!

  1. Rabbits can literally be scared to death so who knows what happened.

  2. First of all, get a flashlight and shine it in his eyes, to check if they are responsive. But all of those symptoms sound to me like he may have stomach worms, or a tape worm. You could go to the vet to ask about what kind of medication you could to him if it is indeed a worm of some type. Before that, you could get him tested for stomach worms and or a tape worm. But it sounds like you may need professional help with it. Good Luck little rabbit!

  3. My concern is that in the fray of being terrified he has hurt his back and broken his spine making him a paraplegic.  Please get him to a vet and have his back x-rayed.

  4. Call a vet NOW,

i personally don't know what the problem is but you should most definitely call a vet NOW

  5. Call the vet!!!!!

  6. VET A.S.A.P THIS IS SERIOUSE

Im sorry if you cant afford a vet. Your bunies life is in danger you should'nt have gotten a pet in the first place if you Knew you couldnt afford a vet every pet you get NEEDS a vet.

Please dont get offended but its the truth animals need as much as care as we do actually even more.

  7. This happened to my cat when a blood clot moved and blocked the flow of blood to her legs. You need to take your rabbit to the emergency vet immediately.

  8. He likely broke his spine trying to get away from the dog.  Rabbits are very very easily stressed by that sort of thing, panic, and try to flee.  They are also very delicate skeletally.  A vet visit is in order.  If his spine is broken, it will be kindest to put him down unless you are dedicated enough to move him inside and provide very intensive special care.
