Li-ion.  

It is the battery that powers the pros cameras.  The hold their charges the longer and will will last up to five years ... or more

Lithium-ion batteries are the best.  Usually the proprietary batteries that come with cameras are lithium-ion.  But if you had a camera that used AA batteries, Li-ion batteries are rather pricey and not exactly ideal.  You should probably stick with cheaper NiMH batteries, such as the Sanyo Eneloop.
