Question:

What Camera would suit be best?

I am interested in photography, but not so much that I'm ready to spend $2000 on a Nikon D3.

What cameras could you suggest for me? I like to take clear and crisp photos and have many configurable options, not just point and shoot.

In the future I hope to build on this, so I would like something semi-pro to learn all about different lighting, lenses and options.

  1. Cirrus' response is right on.  And you can purchase the Olympus Evolt E-510 with two lenses for $675 at samys.com.

    Good luck!

  2. try an olympus e-510 with the two lens kit all for about 600 dollars if you shop around

    lenses included are :

40-150mm (great for sports and outdoors stuff, decent zoom for your first cam)

14-42mm (great for portaits and macro, nice wide angle view)

lenses are full digital with fast AF

this cam is light and compact and features a live view function (the e-520 has an improved live-view AF but that one only come with one lens)

in-body image stabilization and dust reduction system
