What Happened to Hip-Hop?

Question

I understand that rappers and singers have to get money and make it just like the rest of us, but I mean what about the love of it all? What happened to rapping and singing for the love for the art? What happened to expressing real life and telling it like it is?

These days, we have "Soulja Boy" and "V.I.C.", supposedly bringing back hip-hop. Whatever happened to the reality of it? Rappers like Nas, 2Pac, Immortal Technique, Talib Kweli, Esham. Always keepin it real, but yet they dont win any awards or medals. Yet, we have 2-second talent show acts like Soulja Boy rackin up awards and mics like crazy.

Can someone plz tell me whats happenin with Hip-Hop? Thanx.

Nothing happened to it, really.  It's just that all you really hear on the radio are the artists you just listed.  Rappers like Nas and Talib Kweli and all of them are still around, it's just that you really have to look for it.  It's not that hard with the internet just look around in the internet  and you will easily find it.

Yea they let them COUNTRY BOYS step in a CITY BOY turf and they just fu*ked it all up . And now NOTHING IS MAKIN' SENSE! Hip-hop is good music but it has become a diamond in the ruff. Sadly! But i'll still luv hip-hop tho no matter wat cuz there are certain artist that i really like.

People wan tot make money.. which means they have to put out what the radio wants causing them to spit anything for money. For the fun and the relaxation of it dissappeared once kiss 108 and etc channells decided rap was good
