I'm generally not big on war movies but Patton is excellent.  It's more about the man than about the battles he was in.

Tora, Tora, Tora is another great movie.  It gives the true story about the attack on Pearl Harbor.

We were soldiers, Black Hawk Down, Full Metal Jacket, JarHead, they all make me cry. But they are by far my favorite.  It is really hard to watch them when you have a deployed spouse but I still do. They make it all worth wild.
