What Stephen King novel is better: Misery or Needful Things?

I think they're both terrific books, but if I had to choose one, I'd have to say: Misery.

  1. Misery is brilliant, but then I am a big S K fan and love all his books!

  2. I could not get through needful things.  So Misery.

  3. I think Misery is the best of the two also.

But Carrie is my favourite novel, and On Writing my favourite book.

  4. I prefer Dolorise Clayborn but I think misery is good also.

  5. Of those two my favorite is definitely Misery.

  6. i liked needful things the best of those two.  i tried reading misery several times and havent finished it.

im rereading the dark tower series though and i super love it even more than the first time

  7. "Misery" is a great book - I think I like the plausibility of the horror. It's also written surprisingly well (I think King gets a little tedious after a while).

But, I should say even though it is ultimately not very plausible "It" is another fine book. The big old thing (1000+ pages) got me through my third trimester! I savored it, not wanting it to end. It is well written and the characters are fleshed-out. I found it compelling.

  8. Misery is just creepy...so definitely that one.
