What animal could i keep?

Question

So, I have a 15 gallon tank, it did have fish in.

I am now ready for a new pet, however I cannot keep a leopard gecko because I cannot get regular food without a 30 minute drive every 5 days.Also I cant keep turtles because my tank is too small, and I am kinda sick of fish!

Anyone know of any other pet that i could keep that would fit the space and is not too much maintenance????

I know I sound fussy but any comments would be well appreciated!

Maybe somethinq like a hermit crab or froq. I have two lil froqs nd they've lived over a year so far. I've had a few hermit crabs. They don't really last THAT lonq. But they are sometimes fun to watch like when they chanqe their shells =) lol.

You don't really sound fussy. I wouldn't wanna drive 30 minutes every five days jus to qet reqular food for a leopard qecko either. =)

I'm qettinqq pretty tired of fish myself. I had two neon tetras nd they both died within the first 3 days of havinqq them. That's real nice. Lol.

HERMIT CRABS.  I have 16 and they are awesome.  They require a glass tank, which you have.  They need substrate (sand, ecoearth) at least twice as deep as your crab is.  Crabs need buddies so get at lest 2, 3 or more is better.  You need a freshwater and salt water dish for them to bath in.  At least 3 extra shells per crab.  You will need to buy a humidity gauge and keep the humidity at least 70% at all times, which is easy if you have a spray bottle, some sponges, and some moss.  Just keep them all very moist and it should stay the right %.  You should get some hideys and climb toys, which are all cheap, and you could even get some from outside.

EDIT:  Actually, hermit crabs can last YEARS if cared for properly.  I know some people who have had the same crabs fro 10 years.

any animal that's not gonna be depressed if you give it away. (cats, dogs, etc)

gerbils are great.  I have had several and they are great pets.  They don't smell like mice or hamsters and do best in brother pairs so you don't have to worry about them getting lonely or having a million babies.  A 15 gallon tank with a lid would be fine for them.  check out www.abcgerbils.com  its an older site but still has a lot of great info about them.
