  1. They stop cars in a selected stretch of road to see if the driver has been drinking.

    Sure, I support it. Why not?  


  2. Officers set up and randomly check drivers to see if they are intoxicated.

    The argument supporting this strategy is to be proactive, and stop the driver before they create a dangerous situation where someone could be injured.

    The argument against it is that it is a violation of your Fourth Amendment rights, as the detention is viewd as an illegal seizure without probable cause. They are not allowed in many states because of this.

  3. Spots where the police set up and check drivers for alcohol use.  Sometimes they stop every driver, sometimes every fourth driver, etc. and yes, I certainly do support it.
