What are binding posts? (banana plugs)?

I'm looking at a power amp to plug up to my guitar amp but the outputs on the power amp are these things called "binding posts" and I don't have a clue how to get a quarter inch cable to attach to that to plug up the speaker.

HELP!!! WHAT IN THE WORLD ARE BINDING POSTS AND HOW DO THEY WORK???

a binding post is a s***w type connector. usually red and black, but do come in other colors.

they are designed so you can use bare wire, lugged connectors, or banana jacks to conect to the device.
