in a chemistry sense, ie the formula

IS it SO3????

I know sulphate is SO4

and sulphide is S

And what is its valency

  1. SO3^-2; it is written with S having 2 single bonds and 1 double with the O's. The double bond can be with any O so the anion resonates. The two negative charges are divided amont the 3 O's for a net -2/3 per O.


  2. SO32-  -  sulfite has a 2- charge, the same as sulfate and sulfide
