well...

in this price category.. if you want the best performance .. head over to dell and look at their refurbished laptops

or their normal ones...

they start at about $699

but they are 100% new...

the refurbished are cheaper - but sometimes have things like scratches and etc.

your best bet might be buying a used computer or an older model that doesn't sell very well. however, if you want to go for a new computer, i heard about this EEE pc or something thats supposed to b really cheap, but not very powerful. good luck!
