Pick an era. Most home decorating styles are just extreme retro. Like art deco or colonial.

Fifties: I love lucy, tom mixx, lone ranger. Diner style furniture, formica, metal base tables and chairs, tweed wrapped speakers, beatnicks

Sixties: "bauhaus" cloth furniture, beatles stuff, peace buttons, R. Crumb prints, love beads, lava lamps, hippies

Seventies: leather furniture, or steel and glass, psychedelia,  mod-ware, avocado or almond paint or carpet, mirror tiles on the wall, disco

I love pin-up girl/rockabilly/sailer jerry style-tattoo retro.  Thin Betty Paige, cherries, tiki, hot rods, dice, swallows (the bird), bowling shirts & graphics, polka dots, anchors, lucite, and the like.  Good luck!
