The handball championships is called Handball World Championship. They have seperate championships for men and women and it's held every 2 years. Men's Champion- Germany/ Women's Champion- Russia

In January 2007 Germany was the host of the XX Men's World Handball Championship and France hosted the XIVIII Women's World Championship.

Since 1972 for the men and 1976 for the women handball has been apart of every Summer Olympics.

In Europe every 2 years they have the European Handball Championship as well as a club championship every year. European countries tend to win all the Olympic medals and the world championships.
