Not Ski-boards, not alpine, not telamark, not cross country... they are for walking kind of. They have a carpet, or hair like material on the bottom so that you go forwards, but not slid backwards... Anyone know what I'm talking about? What are they called, and what do you know about them? Thanks.

  1. Well, I know you are talking about the same type of material backcountry skiers fix to their skis when hiking up the mountains. They are called climbing skins. Can slide one direction, but not the other.

But I have never heard of anyone attaching that to boots, or making a small walking platform out of them. I searched a little too, and couldn't find anything. Is this perhaps a European product?

  2. Do you mean the blades/ big foot. Are you talking about the little skis. If your talking about the ones I have. They are carving skis. You have to be able to carve to use them.
