Basically, they broadcast email messages to everyone on the list.

Chat rooms are simply real time chat where you choose your interest and ..chat.

In "yahoo groups" where u can go to find ppl ur age that share common interests like religion (that is y i joined my first group).... it is different b/c u just don't "chat" u find out information about everything
