One great match I saw was the one between Murray and Gasquet in this year's Wimbledon. Gasquet was about to wrap up the match when Murray came roaring back (literally even). Remember the running backhand that went over the edge of the net and landed behind Gasquet while Murray almost ran into the photographers? Fantastic! However, besides the amazing shots was Murray's newfound enthusiasm and energy. He really got the crowd into the match; pretty much all of Great Britain was watching! Unfortunately, he lost to Nadal in the next round, making Murray's win a little anticlimactic, but I still don't think anyone, including myself will forget it.

However, according to Tennis magazine, the greatest tennis match of all time (and I tend to agree) is the one between Federer and Nadal in the '08 Wimbledon final. The tennis was the best anyone's ever seen, drama was in no short supply (loads of rain delays, Federer behind two sets to love, coming back in two more tiebreaks, fighting off multiple championship points with *incredible* clutch shots, etc., etc.), and two of the greatest players chasing history played each other. Even though I was rooting for Federer, it was an *amazing* match; I practically either lived or died after each point. It'd be hard to forget it; it was history in the making.

Edit: While I wouldn't say it was a *great* match (Nadal got dismantled) I did enjoy the '08 semifinal match between Tsonga and Nadal. I'd never seen Tsonga before; he was clearly in "the zone" during the match. Whatever he did worked! He played with phenomenal variety and easily beat Nadal. Unfortunately, he fell to Djokovic in the finals; I guess he couldn't keep the momentum going for another day. I hope he recovers from his injuries quickly; I want to see him play again!

In the 2003 French Open, Kim Clijisters beat Serena Williams (the defending champion). It's prolly on of the best matches I ever watched. I think they had a good match at Indian Wells that year too.

My favorite has to be the 2005 Australian Open semifinal between Roger Federer and Marat Safin. It was an absolutely amazing match. This year I really enjoyed the Beijing Olympics semifinal between Djokovic and Nadal.
