  1. Well, let's see, a zebra finch or a cockatiel is only a "better" pet for you in regards to your lifestyle, so only you will know which is a better match for you...

Zebra finches don't have that make-your-ears-bleed scream cockatiels have; their loudest vocalizations aren't even remotely loud as a cockatiel's. However, cockatiels can learn to talk, whereas zebra finches can't.

Zebra finches don't require a lot of attention, really they keep each other company, whereas cockatiels are social birds that need human companionship; if you don't have a lot of time to spend socializing with your bird, a pair or small group of zebra finches is a better choice. The downside is that while you can watch zebra finches, you can't really interact with them the same way you would a cockatiel.

Zebra finches are best kept in pairs or small groups, whereas tame pet cockatiels are best kept singly if you want a personable bird; it is possible to have a pair of cockatiels who are both personable and like being with you but it is far more likely that you will end up with two cockatiels who like each other and want nothing to do with you, or one cockatiel who only wants to be with you while the other is jealous and frustrated.

I wouldn't know about keeping canaries and zebra finches together; it's generally a bad idea to keep birds of different sizes together, as the larger birds can hurt the smaller birds. There's no reason why you couldn't have both and just keep them in different cages, though. Even if you found out they do make a good match, you would have to keep them in separate cages, in separate rooms, for about a month after you first got them so you could make sure the new finches weren't carrying any hidden illnesses.

  2. Parakeets are little angels. Hehe

I have two cockatiels. And they are really sweet they are really really cute. And pretty smart, they get along pretty well with people. I would buy two though. They can get a little messy with their food though, but most birds do. They're funny.

I don't think zebra finches are the best deal. They don't get along with anything but their own kind in my exp. But they can be cute...and crazy!

Something you should buy is a conure!

They are gorgeous and very amazing birds. Also The Amazon greys are one of the most smartest birds. They live very long too. They are very smart and very great pets. You could potty train them, teach them to talk, let them fly around in your house, buy them LOTS of toys, keep them very busy, and they are awesome!

A con with them is they are very smart. A funny story I had with mine was that his cage is right next to my cockatiels and we switched foods, so he got this vitamin thing and they got some seeds. Well I went to go take a shower and this crackhead got out of his house went inside the other birds house. Scared them to death so they were in the corner of their cage. Threw all there food on the floor but the sunflower seeds. Eats the sunflower seeds and goes back in his cage. When I went into my room he was like OMG, another con is that theyre louder then watch dogs and have a screechy sound, well we screeched and climbed out of their cage and back into his. He's adorable. One thing I would do is keep a lock on his cage or if you are willing to get him his own room where he can fly in thats good. But keep your windows closed. I highly reccomend a conure they are AMAZING!

    hope i helped xoxo

  3. A parakeet

  4. Personally I hate seeing birds kept in a cage.

Kind of like fish being kept in a plastic bag or a dog tied to a stake in the yard.

Most of us could 'buy' animals, that's not impressive. What is impressive is treating animals as more than bought items.

  5. i love parakeets get those

  6. zebra finches are adorable and fun to watch, but you cant play with them or handle them much because it stresses them out

they are so cute though :D
