What can I do at home?

I recently quit my job as a teacher so that I can be a stay at home mom to my 11 month old son. It's something I really want to do however it is going to be extrememly difficult living off of my husbands' income-who is also a teacher. I am a crafty person. Is there a job I can do at home the will help bring in some extra money?

I see there's another home based travel company on here-but I know of one where  you just connect the customer to your Travelocity.com site and that's the end of it! You don't book the travel or show them how to do anything-just give them your website and go on your way...

I'm also very crafty but I think if you tried to do it for a j.o.b. then it wouldn't be fun anymore. Just a thought.

You actually have a lot of options out there to work from home.  I know plenty of people, including myself that work from home and make a sufficient amount of income.  I don't know what type of income you need, so I'll go over a few different things you can do so you can stay home with your son as well.

There's a few "telecommute" positions.  Just means home based. You can apply for a position if you meet their criteria.  Most places require 40 WPM and above, certain Internet speed (for the jobs the require Internet access), good customer service etc etc.

Another way you can make money from home, is start your own home based business.  Either a business within a business, or your own company.  Each have the same income opportunity as a traditional business, without the over head expenses.  There are things from Child Daycare Centers, to telecommunications, to travel etc.  Many different industries to look into.

All these things can hep bring in some extra money.  Some income opportunities are higher then others.  As an example, a home based business (pretty much in any industry) will give you a higher income opportunity then a home based job.

Do not fall for the online jobs.  They will separate you from your money. We paid someone to check on our elderly aunt every day.  If Aunty didn't come to the door, she would call us.  We were thrilled to have her. Find an elderly person near you. /
