What can i do for him?

My son just turned 2 years old and for the past 3 nights he has gotten up between 1 and 3 in the morning crying well not just crying its more like screaming.. he screams at the top of his lungs kicks and cries.. no matter what i do for him he just cries.. i hold him i sing to him i leave him alone.. and he still just cries... and this goes on for well over an hour.. the past 2 nights the only thing that will calm him down is if i let him brush his teeth.. I know hes not waking up crying because he wants to brush his teeth.. and no one is waking him up by being loud or anything because the house is quiet everyone is asleep.. also when he wakes up at first its like he is crying in his sleep then when he finally opens his eyes he just cries even more... Please if you have been through this or you have some suggestions.. please help me.. im exhausted..

If it helps any there hasnt been any changes at home.. except for i took him off of his bottle (but he hasnt even asked for one at all and i took him off of it 2 weeks ago and the middle of the night tantrums only just started.) and this past week i have been working 7:30am to 7pm with a 2 hour lunch in between.. that i go home with him for..

if it contiues i would take him to ur doctor or a dentist if he hasnt been lately just to be sure he is in good health.  although i would say that brushing his teeth he just does because for most kids its a bedtime routine.

i would think it would be bad dreams

Bad dreams?  Getting his last set of molars?  Maybe his mouth is sore if brushing his teeth is calming him down?

So many things go on when a child turns two. I have raised three children and my first son was very difficult. I suggest talking to your pediatrician and getting his/her advice first. The other answer about teeth coming in, that makes sense.He calms down when he brushes his teeth, that might make them feel better. Have you tried to talk with him at his level? See what he comes up with too. Good luck.

hmmm, maybe get his ears checked? sometimes we never even know when our kids have an ear infection. and then it only affects then at night, which is weird, but i've seen it a few times.

He is having night terrors and you are waking him up during them.  When he has them don't go in and wake him up.  Night terrors are quite common in toddlers, some theories is that they are electrical impulses in the toddler's brain that are still working because a toddler's world is so full of new things and new information.  So the child screams, some have fits, some just cry, some will sit up in bed and them lay back down.  They aren't awake, they are asleep and if you leave them alone they will eventually calm back down and continue sleeping.  My middle child used to sit upright in bed and call out to the dogs.
