What castes are NAIK and DARGAR?

I know, I know - Caste isn't something that people like to address.... but I'm just interested.

Naik , I remember Kamalhassan being a naik in his famous maniratnam movie - nayakan.

I dont know any one personally, it must be a south Indian caste.

and btw no clue about dargar!!

As stated by the MP in Parliament:  DR. SUSHIL KUMAR INDORA : I have also received number of memoranda to this effect as I am the Chairman of this Committee. I have forwarded certain recommendations that Naik caste should be included in the list of scheduled castes since they are treated as the people of scheduled caste. Even Haryana Government has made such demand that the people belonging to Naik caste should be included in the list scheduled caste.
