What caused the car fire?

i got a new battery and battery cables put on the day before my car was on fire. the battery doesn't have a top anymore and all the guys that seen it says it looks like the battery exploded. how do i know?

  1. I'd take it to your local professional at auto zone and have them test the battery for free, those guys and gals are professionals and are smarter than ase certified techs.


  2. maybe the battery sat too high and possibly grounded out with the hood of your car or maybe the voltage regulator in you vehicle failed causing th altenator to charge at high voltage causing your batt to burst.

  4. What did the fire department say? Year & Mileage? Do you know exactly where the fire started? "Battery?" Really a New battery it's Possible but not likely! No top on Battery, Right! Heat from the fire expanded the Acid & Water in the battery and blew the top off.

    Engine was Clean? Well Maintained? No Bad or Loose Wires? no Fuel Leaks? Overheating Problems?

    Road Grim combined with any of the Above can cause a Fire.
