  1. Honesty; Self-Knowledge (knowing yourself); Integrity (not always the same as Honesty); Discipline (being able to put your own wants aside to help others); Serenity (do you get angry easily, or do you "shrug it off"?).

This is not a complete list of the characteristics found in those with true Inner Strength, but it is a good start for those who wish to find their own Inner Strength. Do a search on "Bushido", "Zen" (and many other Philosophical practices) and any/all of the World Religions (Buddhism, Christianity, Judaism, Islam, Zoroastrianism, etc) for more information and details.

Interesting thing about all the World Religions -- they all emphasize the need for Inner Strength. Yet to find true Inner Strength, a person does not always need Religion.

  2. i think the best way to make up our inner strength is to be honest... especially honest to yourself, then you can be honest for everything else.

  3. Humility, respect, hope, compassion, understanding, courage, wisdom, honesty, security, spiritual awareness....

  4. honesty, steadfastness, patience, endurance, politeness, inner strength, strong psychological structures.

  5. Courage, self-awareness, self-belief ... maybe single-mindedness.

Actually, if you have 'self-belief' every thing else will fall into place and if it doesn't then it won't matter cos you're a survivor.

I wanted to say 'honesty' but I've known some successful people I wouldn't p**s on if they were on fire.
