What clouds your vision?

BACK IN THE DAY, I KNEW A GUY…

In Nepal, the young people used to

run naked through the hemp fields.

When they emerged from the bushes,

their bodies would be covered with resin.

The old people would then rub off the tar

with their hands, rolling it into long sticks.

This product was called Nepalese Finger Hash.

As hard as I try, I can’t imagine this

being a bad thing…

This could be adapted into an interesting Haibun.

Here is an exercise they did on another site (more than just how to do it, there is a really good poet instructor with numerous poems attempted).

And no I haven't tried it yet. I'm a little slow on these things. I would probably take a week or two to make one. This poem you just wrote though might be a good choice for the form.

Rock on Todd and TD! That's od-ious. Not much between them. hmmm. anyway. If you were to write the first 2 verses in a paragraph and then haiku'd the last as:

As hard as I try

I cannot imagine this

being a bad thing.

Then the Haiban is created. The haiku picks up (maybe summarises) from the paragraph. Yes it works Todd. Thanks both.

That was something rich and strange.

Nepal is one of our neighbours TD. The life, the customs and their rituals are strange and surprising. You would sometimes feel like a man visiting an antique land, the chiming bells, the prayers, the cold and mountains on one side: kings, mob, cry for democracy, riots by communists on the other side. A little land with too much in it.
