Question:

What colour Bar tape?

I know, I know, very important question...

Can't think of what colour bar tape (and possibly cable housings) would look really good with a polished chromed steel frame road bike.

Any suggestions? I was thinking white, but they'd quickly go all grey/black from sweat and my cycling mitts...plus only those in the pro-peleton seem to be allowed to use white tape, lol

What about mint green?

Thanks for any suggestions.

  1. I'd say Navy Blue, my DJ bike is silver and i got dark blue pedals and grips and it looks pretty good

  2. I have a dark blue Bianchi so you can probably guess what color it's trimmed in. It has celeste tires, bottles and cages, saddle, and handlebar tape. Them of course the frame's trimmed in celeste.

Contrary to popular belief, it is possible to wash colored bar tape and still have it look good.

For your chrome frame I think blue or red would look nice.

Question: Are you perhaps talking about an old Schwinn Paramount?

  3. black black black they never look dirty trust me I've tried white and it doesn't suits me and my campagnolo bottechia looks s**y with black bar tape..

  4. Black is always good- I have a set of black aerobars fitted so I chose black tape to match them.

  5. Personally, I'd go with purple. Just because it's my favorite color.

  6. Black, any other colors are going to show sweat stains and in the likes, also if you put mint green on there you may not like how it looks, black bar tap goes w/ just about any frame/bike color

  7. I would go black with the tape and cable housings.  Black stays newer looking longer and won't show up any dirt, scuffs and scratches as much as white.  I'd go with a light or neon green if it came to that, but I think black is the better choice.

  8. Ethier black or navy blue i would say red but  not on a road bike.
