What colour should my walls be?

I'm re-doing my room into a New York/Breakfast at Tiffany's type theme. The colours I'm thinking of are White, Black and Silver. The problem is, I don't know which colour my walls should be! White is too plain, Black is too dark and Silver is too... Back to the future! Any ideas ??

sounds good as accents and trim for the walls try a pinkish, tan, neautral color or like a tan brown color, it's neutral and won't be to intense or too boring and incooperate the black and silver into the trim and such, dutchboy.com is great along w/ better homes and gardens

The one thing your White paint does is make the room appear to be larger than it is.  It makes the room brighter.  There are many different shades of White.  Go to the paint store and check it out.
