  1. You may have eaten something that iratated your salavery gland, and caused the salavery duct to close up.

Try rubbing it, sqeezing gently, you may get a funny taest in your mouth, if you do, and the swelling does not go down go to the Dr. preferably an ENT.

    Good luck, Smiles,  yaffa

  2. I had the exact same problem and i experienced excruciating pain! Nothing helped, i tried antibiotics, ice, natural remedies etc. I went to the emergency dentist and they said i had an abcess caused by 3 dodgy teeth. Since your jaw is connected to your ears you can easily feel the pain there rather than in your mouth. Go to your dentist asap and they may decide to remove some teeth to stop it occurig again. Hope it gets better soon.

  3. heres my favorite words i use on questions like this:

    "GO TO THE DOCTOR FOOL!!!"

also it might be a toothache go get some orajel(sorry if it misspelled) or go to denist

  4. definately (ok..more than likely) a tooth infection. I would do see a dentist or doctor right away. I had a friend who was almost hospitalized because he tried to wait it out.

  5. Sounds like it could be a dental abcess. Use ice to numb the pain. DO NOT USE HEAT on it!!!!!!!!!!!! That can cause it to fester on the outside of your face and leave a huge, ugly scar (I saw this happen to someone, and it was horrible!) Get to a dentist right away! You will need antibiotics! Neglecting something like this can cause bone loss!

  6. There is a condition called TMJ or TMD, temporomandibular disorder.

Or tmeporomanmdibular joint.  This of course is the jaw bone.  It is not just one disorder, but a group of conditions, often painful, that affects your jaw joint.  It affects about twice as many women as men.  The good news is that for most people, pain in the area of the jaw joint or muscles is not a signal that a serious problem is developing.  Generally, discomfort from TMD is occasional and temorary, often occuring in cycles.  The pain eventually goes away with little or no treatment.  Only a small percentage of people with TMD pain develop significant, long-term symptoms.    Go on this web site and you wil have more info.  www.webmd/tmj.  Also, see a dentist.  He will help you a lot.  Yes, it can be a tooth, but to me, it sounds like a lot more because my best friend had TMJ.  Once she was treated, it never came back.  Untreated, I know it can get worse.  Another possibility can be a severe inner ear infection.  This can cause pain to generate in surrounding areas.  Either way, you should see someone for it, be it a dentist or ENT.(ears, nose, throat MD)

    Hope you feel better soon.

Edit. At 15, that certainly rules out wisdom teeth.  Another thing.  Just because you have pain in one area, it can still mean you have a bad tooth, even tough I don't think that's the case, but pain generates which means it can originate from one place and sort of 'spread' to another.  So don't rule out the teeth just yet.  A hidden abcess deep inside your gums may not show outwardly yet.  your best bet is to see the doctor.  Good luck sweetheart.

  7. This sounds like a job for the dentist.  It could be any number of problems: cavity, infection, abscess, broken jaw (if you recently suffered trauma to it).  The fact that it is puffy points to an infection.  It could also be an infection or blockage of your parotid salivary gland.  This is something you need to see either your dentist or physician for.  It shouldn't be serious so no need to worry.

  8. Mmm, are you sure you did not kiss your boyfriend last night?

    It could be that.

  9. If there is a clicking sound when you open your mouth or it feels as though you jaw is locking or hurts while chewing it may be the jaw bone joint. AKA Tempro Mandibular Joint(TMJ)

If this is the case you need to see a Maxio Facial Specialist, This an oral surgeon plus MD.

Some times Ibuprofen helps with the pain, which ever it is, suggest you consider soft food and minimize chewing to lessen your pain.

  10. It could be from your jaw or your teeth. Sometimes pain radiates over to different areas even if it doesn't originate from there. You should schedule a doctor's appointment.

  11. You need to see a doctor and/or dentist.  You could have an abscess or it is possible a spider could have bitten you but I tend to think it is probably an abscess.  It sounds like you need antibiotics and will later have to have the tooth pulled or a root canal.

Please understand, I am only guessing based on what you have told us so far.  Is there any redness on your cheek?  Is it hot to the touch?  More information may help us to give better answers.

You did not give us your age, but some drugs that are given for thinning bones can cause a loss of jaw bone.  If you are taking any of these drugs, please get ER help.  I hope your pain eases and this is nothing serious.

  12. This is not a free doctors chat line
