  1. Care more then others think is wise:

-When others tell you that you should move on or forget about something ,yet you remain persistent and put in effort to revive what others think is lost or insignificant you have shown patients, dedication and determination. All these virtues are necessities for human excellence.

Risk more than others think is safe:

-Do not be afraid to speak up for the things you feel are right, though the lose of support from few may occur the gains within ones-self are far more rewarding. Also, do not be afraid to lose something valuable if the potential reward out ways the jeopardized item. Even when others think it is unsafe to take certain risks one must always rely on their instinct as to what they should do.

Dream more than others think is practical:

-Even when chances are slim always remember the possibilities and never forget that even if difficult nothing is impossible.

Expect more than others think is possible:

-Know your worth. If you believe you deserve more than what others think or that you can achieve more then what others believe then it would be wise to disregard them.

The moral to this is that what others think holds no real value to how one should live his or her life.

    2. Life is limited. Ones thoughts will do them no good if one does not utilize the power within them. When an idea is captured within the mind it is merely and aspiration or an impalpable creation. Why let dreams remain enclosed? Release them and allow others to see possibilities unfold.

  2. I think the first quote is saying that in order to be excellent you have to do excellent things as well. You cant just be average and expect the attention of an extraordinaire.

The second quote is saying that let everything that comes into your mind have a meaning towards you, and in some way benefit you, not to just day dream all day.

I tried my best! I'm not a pro at these. But I hoped it helped.

  3. the former simply means go above and beyond what you normally do which will create excellent "work" performance or "study" habits.

the latter is also in relation to productivity. in simpler terms it means to not only think about what you can to, but to do it, and think of new ways to make it better.

  4. The point is to avoid the average or status quo. You need to avoid the behavior and actions of the majority of people and go beyond that to reach excellence. However, I believe that we oftentimes limit ourselves when we compare ourselves to others because once we feel we've outdone others - we relax - but each individual should compete against themselves to be the best they can be - which may triple or quadruple the average or the status quo.

These kinds of quotes are usually made by unsuccessful managers who want to feel better about their miserable lives by putting unreasonable amounts of pressure on their subordinates to do more and more without expecting anything in return from them or the company. These kinds of managers try to create "competition" between employees and enjoy having the power to pit people against each other in a negative way thinking this strategy will increase productivity. Mind games - really.
