My favorite 'local' style food in Hawaii is loco moco. It's white sticky rice topped with a cooked hamburger patty, gravy, grilled onions, and an egg! Mmm...  :)~

Well they have the same basic fare available anywhere in the US, but they have a cuisine of their own.  You should make a point of going to a luau as they have kalua pork, poi, lomi lomi salmon, long rice, sweet bread, etc.  The Hawaiian cuisine is a mix of Asian and Polynesian and has a lot of fresh fruits, fish, etc.  It's really quite good, but of course you can get a burger if you need it.  If you're on the Big Island, have a burger at Drysedale's in Kailua Kona.

yes we eat sushi, hamburgers, and other things like that.  hawaii is a diverse place.  we enjoy cuisines from ALL over the world!  we probably eat everything you're used to eating where ever you are.  maybe not everyone but you'll find some.  along with hawaiian food you'll find that japanese, chinese, filipino, mexican and lots of other foods are popular amongst the locals.  if you're going there have fun!

Everytime I go, I love their Ramen!! They have it everywhere & it is just so darn good!! Nothing like Top Ramen, but it is so yummy! Yes, I like Waikiki Cheeseburger restaurant, too. They have all kinds of food & different restaurants everywhere. Aloha!!~~
