What do you eat for breakfast when you are about to go to your dance classes? What keeps you most energized?

  1. I don't go to dance class in the mornings, but right before dance class, I tend to eat a lot so I can have enough energy.


  2. I used to consume oatmeal, tea, and a plentiful amount of fruit-usually a banana and an apple to wake myself up.

  3. I am not really hungry in the mornings, but the problem with me and my sisters is if we dont eat, we get low blood sugar and pass out, so I will sometimes eat toast.  I usually eat some Saltines though just so my blood sugar stays level.

  5. A fruit smoothie that includes things like pomegranates, blueberries, strawberries, orange juice and the like keeps me very energized.

    Also, a little bowl of oatmeal sprinkled with almonds and raisons and a little honey drizzled on top is a very appetizing, filling and energizing breakfast.

Wow everyone's so healthy...i'll just answer this for kicks then.  My favorite thing to eat before one of my 12-hour rehearsal/classes is a Grande drink from Starbucks (warm on a cold day, cold on a hot day), one of their delicious chocolate doughnuts, and if i need to i'll pack Ritz crackers and either pop-tarts or Goldfish to keep me going.  Some dancers at my studio are known to pop Red Bulls before class to prevent passing out from fatigue.  Those foods keep me energized.

  8. apples, pears, bananas, grapes. Never eat dairy products befor getting active.

  10. All the majour healthy food groups. Fiber, protein, etc. You especially want something that can keep you full for about 2 to 3 hours.

    Before I go to conventions, I like to eat frosted minnie wheats and a fruit because the minnie wheats expand in your stomach and keeps your stomach satisfied until lunch.

    If you don't beleive me, try it yourself. Get a plain glass of water with no ice and put a minnie wheat in it. After a while, it will start to expand really wide. The fruit makes it healthy and gives you energy. Good luck!

  11. What i have found to be the best breakfast before a day of dancing would be a bowl of Fiber One Honey Clusters cereal with banana's and raisins mixed in

  12. Oats, it releases its energy slower over a longer period.  will keep you going for longer.

    Banana's does the same as well

  13. Granola, Dried Fruit, High Protein whole grain cereal,  are my top 3. Granola is VERY feeling and doesn't give you that UGH feeling when your dancing.

  14. bread- carbohydrates give you slow releasing energy so it will keep you going through class. Try wholemeal bread with nuts...
