I have pcos, and took clomid 100mg with 1000mg of met last month. My 21 day progesterone was 1.8, the nurse said that I didn't ovulate. My OPK said otherwise. I got af yesterday which is cd 32, I called the nurse to tell her and she said that it wasn't from the clomid, I had a period on my own. They want to bump the clomid up to 150 with met to see if I will ovulate.

I think I did ovulate last month and their blood test was too early. Anyone had this happen?

  1. I can tell you that I didn't ovulate until CD23 this month on Clomid, however it is also possible to get false positive OPKs from Clomid.  The only at home method to confirm ovulation is BBT, and Clomid can even mess that up a little, though it didn't for me.  So it is possible that you did the progesterone test too early, but not ovulating until CD23 is considered a poor response and they are changing my days to 3-7 from 5-9 in response, so it is not out of the question to change a protocol after a poor response, even if there was a response.  When did you get the +OPK?  If it was after CD21 and you are not charting BBT, it's anyones guess whether or not you ovulated.  I still suggest sticking to the treatment plan so you don't waste another month on a poor response.  If that doesn't seem to work, you could try Femara instead.

  2. Your progesterone level should be over 17 by day 20 according to my doctor.  Even with a longer cycle (usually because of Clomid or b/c you always have a long cycle), you should have ovulated by CD20.  You don't get your period from Clomid, Clomid is used to get follicles to mature.

  3. You may have ovulated, but it could have just been a really bad ovulation cycle with a bad egg.  Met and clomid have a good success so good luck to you.  If 150 doesn't work they can still bump you to 200.  Also PCOS can give you false positives on OPK

  4. I have tried Clomid unsuccessfully for 4 months only to move on to heavier treatment.  It only made me quite moody and just an emotional mess, on top of trying to conceive.  I say go another round or so, Clomid doesn't work for all, but consult your physician with each step.  Good luck in trying to conceive.

  5. I just did one months of clomid and today I found out I was pregnant. My progesterone level was only a 1.2. My doc said that some people do ovulate with that low of level. I would wait until cd 35 and take a test. My cd is 35 today, I took a test on cd31 and it was negative. So, it really shows that a few days do make a difference. I know that I ovulated later than the normal time should be. I was on 50 mg of clomid. Good luck to you. I hope this is your month.
