I have always called those white trails, Contrails.

I is nothing more than warm air meeting cold damp air.  I have no opinion as to whether or not these contrails affect the weather.  I've heard that there maybe some longterm consequences.

It looks like trails from crop fertilizers or pesticides.

I used to be in aviation. The reason airplanes fly at 35,000 feet is because it is very cold (0 degrees) causing the engines to perform at maxium performance. What do you think happens when hot vapor hits cold temperatures.
