It's a great place. It's humid and it's hot. They have gorgeous beaches, old but beautiful churches, and good looking women. The people also are friendly. =)

What do I think of the Philippines... Hummm...

I think :

Philippines is a very historical place but not as historical as Rome...

It has nice beaches on which you can have your relaxing time...

Phil is down in the economic but rich in is natural beauty...

In short, I think Philippines is a very nice place to stay... Well, it actually depends on how you'll like it...

Its a beautiful country but the cities are run down and dirty, the popular beaches have been over commercialised and the best beaches are un accessable, the infrastructure is terrible to non-existant outside of Manila, expect power cuts every 3 days or so, the southern end of the country is on the brink of civil war, the government, senators, provincial govenors and city mayors are all corrupt, everyone in the country is trying to leave it seems, most government departments still use typewriters and carbon copy paper instead of computers, anyone can be bribed, all the woman are married with kids by the age of 19, prostitution is rife, the church meddles in political affairs and because of the influence of the roman catholic church families with 10 kids or more are not uncommon, poverty is everywhere, petty crime rampant, and polution terrible in the cities.....however that said, Beer is good, cold and cheap, woman are usually very pretty and very friendly, filipino food is a bit bland but there are usually many alternatives and very reasonably priced, accomodation can be 5 star at half the price of the west, its hot all year round but expect lots of rain in July/August.

Philippines was once a beautiful and clean country... but as the time goes by it's beauty fades with it. The weather is fine.. hot and humid but in a tolerable range. I just can't handle the pollution and traffic.. and when i say 'traffic' it means no moving at all for hours. You'll see a lot of beggars on the street knocking on the window of your car carrying a baby or pretending to be disabled, on the highway and sometimes living under the bridge.

Then there's a supposed to be metered taxi who never uses their meters especially if you are a white guy/foreigner. If they do.. you're lucky if they ask twice of the price. The so called 'malling' is just the people way of staying at the mall for free AC.. you'll be surprised about their malls there... Malls are everywhere! jammed with people nicely dressed but not buying a d**n thing. Amazing to see how this '3rd world country' has so many malls yet people are starving.

Philippines is still a beautiful country, and corrupt politicians are in just about every country.
