What do you think of pitbulls?

I have had wonderful, friendly pitbulls and rottweilers as my entire life and it ticks me off when I hear that some areas want to ban people from having pitbulls because they are "dangerous" I am aware that there have been attacks, but I am a firm believer that the owners of the dogs are the ones who have a large influence on a dog's dispositiion.

What is your opinion?

  1. I have two and they are completely harmless.I trust them with my 5 year old son and other dogs.

They have never showed aggression towards any other dog or person.

I think the main issue is improper training.

And nightshade7983, get your facts straight girl!

  2. i have a pitbull and he is not mean

  3. I think they're terribly misunderstood.

  4. love them but the require to much attention....well atleast mine does...she spoiled...she only sleeps on some cushy if she doesnt have her bed or a pillow she jumps on my sofa which i cant stand she doesnt like to be alone she loves company especially little kids

  5. i agree with you.

i own 2 pits and a pit mix and there the nicest fiendlest dogs i have ever owned

  6. I got a pit bull the nicest dog ever, I wouldn't have any other dog and also **** Michel Vick

  7. Pit Bulls were bred to be aggressive, yes. However, so were many of the large guard dogs. Pits with patient loving owners are wonderful, loyal, loving companions. I wouldn't be so quick to trust them around small animals or other dogs, of course. Though they can be trained to be tolerant of them, their natural inclination will usually be to fight. There are of course exceptions to this rule, I know. It is the owners responsibility to mold their Pit into a good citizen, which may (MAY) be more difficult than with some other breeds.

  8. Oh so very true. The owners, and the people that were in the dogs early years are responsible for the way a dog reacts to situations. Any breed can be vicious if taught to be that way, or left untrained and unsocialized.

  9. Everyone has an opinion on here. If you look on that search button above you'll see them.

sigh* Everyone asks the why. But never asks what to do.

  10. I totally agree. My Aunt has had a pitbull for 16 years and not once has the dog EVER attacked someone. She is very gentle and loving to everyone she meets. So I think it's stupid that people think it's just the breed of the dog that makes them "dangerous". It's how the owner treats the dog : )

  11. i totally agree with u it pisses me off so much when everyone afraid of them when its not their fault

  12. I agree with you.

  13. i tottaly agree wiht you.. i know a lot of people the have had pitbulls and the owner has a huge effect on the dogs decisions.. pitbulls are very trainable dogs and once they know their owner pitpulls will do evertying the owner tells them to do.. i just love those dogs they are the best!
