What does 50 lbs compare to?

I'll be flying shortly and my suitcase can only weigh 50 pounds. I'm not exactly sure how much this is so can anyone give me ideas of what weighs about 50 lbs??

a 5 gallon bucket full of water is about 40 pounds

Stand on the bathroom scale;write down your weight.

Pack your bag with as much as you want.

Pick up your bag and stand on bathroom scale. Write down this weight.

Subtract your weight from the weight of you+packed bag. The remainder is the weight of the bag. If it is under 50lbs stuff some more in there and weigh again. If it i over 50lbs take some out and try again.

You might want to pack it a little light. Sometimes bathroom scales don't match airport scales. Also you might want to bring some cool stuff home. Fees for excess baggage weight would be a big bummer.

Go to the airport with a pile of stuff and put your suitcase on thier scale. Make sure you slowly add stuff until it weighs 50 pounds. Then throw away everything else you have. Be sure to get to the airport at least 5 minutes before your scheduled departure.

OR...you could just put the suitcase on the bathroom scale.  WOW.

Just pack what you have to take with you...Unless you're prissy, your bag will probably be just fine.  If it is a little overweight, just take the shoes out and put them in your carry on
