  1. it's an adjective to describe one who clings (holds tightly, grasps, has a strong emotional attachment, is emotionally dependent or is stubbornly attached to something)

consider 'to cling on to life'

a good example of clingy is the behaviour of a toddler when mum tries to leave = the toddler will literally 'cling' onto mum's leg to try and prevent her from leaving.

Clingy is often used to describe someone in a relationship who is over-dependent, wants to be with the other every minute of the day, has separation anxiety and doesn't allow the other any space and in this context has a negative connotation (it's not a nice thing to be called)

  2. people that follow you around and you dont really want them there but they just are

  3. emotionally suffocating...overwhelmingly with your presence....needy....always around

  4. It's what the Klingons do on Star Trek or whatever that show is. They won't let go, won't let you just go by.

  5. That you are always like around that one person, so much that it may get annoying.
