I was lookin at the college book and it said to get to organic chem, you need chem 120 and 121.. which is general chem , but for my admission to CAL.. it said I only need chem 120.. so what would be equivalent to organic chem which is 226?

  1. I am not sure I am understanding your question clearly.  In order to take organic chemistry you need to have taken 120 and 121 (Are these semester classes?).  In order to be admitted into CAL you only need 120.  If you plan on taking organic chemistry at CAL then you still need to take 121 before going on to Organic Chem.  You can also take 121 at a local community college which would be like second semester chemistry and you can take o-chem at a community college.. but for all o-chem classes most of them would want a year of chem (both 120 and 121 if each are a semester long).

Equivalent means a class that you take at another college is at the same level as the class you need to take at your college.  If you take it elsewhere.. they will give you credit for it and you don't need to take it at your college.
